New BK Trademark application

Post by fluffy bunny » 26 Nov 2007

I noted before that the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization CORPORATION TEXAS had applied for three trademarks in the name of 'Brahma Kumaris', 'Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University' and 'BKWSU'.

There is a new application in for 'Brahma Kumaris' dated 25 October 2007. See link, here. This time it is under sections; IC 041. US 100 101 107. and for
USTPO wrote:Meditation training; Providing a website that features informal instruction on meditation.; Yoga instruction; Education services, namely, providing classes, seminars, workshops, programs, retreats in the fields of spirituality, meditation, Yoga, positive thinking and stress free living.
If the ink breaks, it is application number: 77313590.
This is interesting as it was filed AFTER the domain dispute. I am still confused at who in the BKWSO should be filing claims as is not NYC and Mohini the headquarters? Why Texas? Does she even know about this? Its all a bit messy, I mean, should not India be applying for these? Do they know?

I think the use of "Yoga" is a bit misleading as most folks would think that means ankles behind the head type of exercise. I note that "website" pops back into the equation ... The previous application was for Books and printed publications in the nature of magazines, newsletters, booklets, pamphlets and brochures, all relating to spiritual and meditation issues; stationery; printed instructional and teaching material featuring spiritual and meditation issues. Provision of spiritual sacred text, specifically termed Murlis or Murli classes, for meditation students ... provision of advertising space
ex-l wrote:Personally, I think trademarking "Brahma Kumaris" is on a par with trademarking "Buddhist" ... are they a business with a product or a religion? Note well;
  • "Provision of spiritual sacred text, specifically termed Murlis or Murli classes, for meditation students" and

"operating an online shopping site in the field of spirituality and meditation"

New BK Trademark application

Post by abrahma kumar » 26 Nov 2007

Yes, Trademarking the Godly University right out of the Confluence Age and into Babylon!

If there is any justice in this world then the outcome will be the same. How far are we from seeing the SS sari's emblazoned with a BKWSO sponsored logo?

What does all the trademarking mean ?

Does it mean that every time I write a letter to, say BK Krishna or BK Neena, I may need to put the small "TM" at the corner ?

Or is "BK" safe to use still ?

Will be watching to see if this trademarking stuff comes up in the centre bullentin boards so that ALL BKs know what it is about.

It means the merchants are going about their business. Presumably they are preparing their commercial sanskars for their next birth in the Copper Age .
is "BK" safe to use still ?
Expect litigation from Burger King in due course :).

Precursor to another domain name dispute?

Hi eromain, I asked the same question on the topic: Has BKWSU been covertly taken over by terrorists? No, i do not think that the BKWSU been covertly taken over by terrorists, but

Sort of like, engaging one's enemy, whose resources are lesser than yours, in a series of small skirmishes that do not cost enemy combatant live's but make his survival a nightmare? And if the application has nothing to do with this site everything is still going to be alright.
Is this another threat to this site?

Are we expecting more?

Post by tete » 27 Nov 2007

Hi,

Well one can never be too prepared so I have just gotten word that the military law books have arrived and a core group will review them in preparation for any further incoming legal attacks or threats.

I am almost certain that one cannot call themselves "Colonel" in a letter to Calvin Chin letter and be a retired one. Also, Oliver North in all his books doesn't identify himself as a "Colonel" and only as Oliver North, Author.

That Bro Neo got me thinking?!? Could we be actively and deliberately being terrorised? Terrorised to shut us up? Could ex-l be right? Could legal action be used as violence? I guess it could if you couldn't defend yourself.

Should we start an on-line petition, asking people all over the world to support our right to exist? Bro Neo, can you come up with some verbage for our petition. Could they have gotten the Murli wrong and thought "Advanced Army" meant "Advance the Army".

I thought BapDada said to send us good thoughts? Those actions are not good thoughts. :(

Yes, tete, that bro neo post had me thinking right from the very outset.

Are we expecting more? Yes, I for one am listening out for BapDada to confirm that these terrorising activities are being undertaken with His unreserved Blessings.

Maybe i expect the wrong type of 'more'.

Yeah, let's face it, if some ex-Army guy went around claiming to be a Colonel 'this or that' then we would say he had a small p***s. Of course, the same might be true in this case ...

Funnily enough, most if not all of the current and ex-US military folk I have met have been courteous, humble even, and polite. Many have publicly and personally repented for having gotten involved in what they realised afterwards was a political tool serving private capital, e.g. money, not the principles they were brainwashed to believe it, and America, was all about.

It looks like the first BKWSU trademark comes up for public comment, or "Published for Opposition" on January 8th, 2008. If anyone feels strongly enough that "COLONEL HANSA RAVAL, Morning Class, US ARMY (RET)" or the BKWSO in San Antonio should not own it ... or that a "University" exist only as an "online shopping site in the field of spirituality and meditation" ... now is the time to speak. Other trademarks should follow soon, so watch this space ... here.

If someone else could do some homework on what this mean, I don't think it is correct according to Shrimat. I think other BK centers in the US ought to be asking what their guaranteed position in all this is ... is it the start of "authorised" and "unauthorised" centers depending on who is in or out of favor? Or a turn towards the commercialism of Bikram's Hot Yoga etc?

77.

"Har ek merchant, har ek dharma vaalon ko tumhey alag-alag nimantran dena hai. RamKrishna vaalon ka badaa math hai. Harijan kee bhi association hai, unkay jo mukhya hain sabko nimantran dekar bulana chaahiye. Aisey kaam karney vaaley koi hon jo ismay lagey rahein. Aapas may raay karnee chaahiye. Baap Shrimat detey hain. Mukhya probe kee baat uthaani hai. Tum mataon ko achchi tarah lalkaar karnee chaahiye. Kamjor nahee ban-na chaahiye. Lekin kayi Brahmanon kee bhi aapas may nahee banti hai. Matbhed ke kaaran aapas may baat bhi nahee kartey hain. Deh-abhimaan bahut hai. Ramrajya may jaaney kay liye toh laayak ban-na padey na. Yah hai Ishwariya raajya, ismay aasuri swabhaav vaaley rah na sakein. Unko BK kahlaaney ka bhi hak nahee hai. Baap kitna meetha pyara hai, toh Baap samaan ban-na chaahiye. Koi-koi bachchey kitney kaduvey ban padtey hain. Baap kahtey hain yah toh janglee kaantey hain." (Brahmakumariyon dwara prakaashit revised Sakar Murli, dinaank 05.11.07, pg 3)

“You should give separate invitation to every merchant, people belonging to every religion. The Ramkrishna (Mission) people have a big math. Harijans also have an association. All their main functionaries should be invited. There should be such workers, who remain continuously engaged in this (service). They should consult each other. The Father gives Shrimat. One must mainly raise the issue of probe. You mothers should give a nice challenge. You should not become weak. But even many Brahmins cannot adjust with each other. Because of differences of opinion, they do not even talk to each other. There is a lot of bodyconsciousness. One should become worthy in order to go to the kingdom of Ram, shouldn't one? This is a Godly kingdom; those with demoniac nature cannot live here. They do not even have a right to call themselves a BK. The Father is so sweet; so one should become like the Father. Some children become so bitter. The Father says - they are wild thorns." (Revised Sakar Murli dated 05.11.07, pg 3 published by BKs in Hindi, narrated by ShivBaba through Brahma Baba; translated by a PBK; the words within brackets in the English version have been added by the translator to clarify the meaning)

As per the above definition of a BK given by ShivBaba through Brahma Baba, how many of us qualify to be a BK let alone copyright the word BK?
